Presentation Title: " WINNING WAYS - PUBLIC RELATIONS FOR THE BUSINESS OF SPORT"
In today’s competitive business environment, as an industry professional or organisation it is essential for you to be at the top of your game.
It is increasingly noticed that in order to attract and keep customers loyal to an organisation, high quality products and services are not enough. Contemporary organisations have come to recognise that they can differentiate themselves and gain competitive advantage by developing the public relations function as part of their communications and relationship building strategies. The same is also true for sport organisations.
The transactions and relationships that exist in contemporary sport possess distinctly different qualities to those found in other business disciplines. What makes the sports organisation’s public relationships unique is that they are potentially life long. It is these valued relationships and growing realisation that sports organisations need to adopt a strategic public relations philosophy, which is much better suited to long term and mutually beneficial outcomes than the solely marketing focussed philosophy that is consistently evident in many sports organisations.
