Paper by John Wade
|
"Myths, Propaganda and Reality" - Click to download file.
This is a paper prepared for a conference with the Australian Tax Office and DLA Phillips Fox. It casts doubt on the dominant mythology that the ATO does not, and legally cannot, negotiate "deals" or "compromises" in the various areas of conflict in which the ATO operates.

One of DRC's senior
teaching staff, Ross McSwan,
was awarded the 2011 Prince of Wales Award (POWA) which enabled him to participate in the London-Geneva Study tour in May 2011. The POWA rewards selected Australian Defence Force Reservists for their dedication and commitment to the service by providing an opportunity for individuals to undertake a training or development activity related to their civilian occupation or profession.
The course on 'Current Issues in International Dispute Resolution - The European Community' in London and Geneva was conducted through the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine University, USA, and provided Ross with ongoing benefits as a mediator and, in particular, as a mediator to the National Court of Papua New Guinea. |
