PRELIMINARY APPROVAL AWARDED TO BOND UNIVERSITY’S DOCTOR OF PHYSIOTHERAPY (DPT)

Bond University has been given the first level of approval for their DPT by the Australian Physiotherapy Council. A major professional leap has been accomplished.

FOUNDATION PROFESSOR OF PHYSIOTHERAPY
|
Not only do we celebrate, and in fine style, the preliminary approval of our Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) at Bond University, we must also recognise the contribution of Elizabeth Gass for her vision to again, change Physiotherapy education in Australia. It was her vision to offer the first DPT in Australia, and that vision was ably assisted by Mr Michael Pahoff and Ms Jenny Dimento, both whom are at Bond University.

SPORTS SCIENCE GRADUATE SECURES HER DREAM JOB AT AUSTRALIA INSTITUTE OF SPORT

The Sports Science field, especially biomechanics, is constantly evolving according to recent Bond University Master of Sports Science graduate, Kate Sloan.
“With new technology and protocols constantly being developed along with the regular development and improvement of the athletes, Sports Science can make a significant contribution to the performance of our elite athletes” said Kate.

EXERCISE SCIENCE GRADUATE SURROUNDS HIMSELF WITH HEARTS

After completing his studies in February 2009, with a Bachelor of Exercise Science from Bond University, Jeremy Hefford began his career as a Cardiac Technician with Heartlab Pty Ltd.

Let’s face it, Australia did not do well at the Beijing Olympics in Cycling and Swimming, events that we were expected to achieve much Gold. What happened? Was the quality of Sport Science advice contributory to our performances in swimming and cycle?

| MEET OUR STAFF |
|
Our newest member of staff is Dr. Kalliopi Sotiriadou. Popi, as she is affectionately known commenced in the Faculty as an Assistant Professor in Sports Management in January 2009. Popi brings an international flavour to our academic Sports Management programs. She completed her undergraduate degree at the Democritus University of Thrace. Wishing to pursue further studies, she left her Greek homeland in 1996 and travelled to the United Kingdom where she completed a Master of Arts at Loughborough University.
Having completed her Master of Arts degree Popi left the UK in 1999 and travelled to Australia where she commenced a PhD in the School of Leisure, Sport & Tourism at The University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).
