The awards were for students who came top of their classes during the September 2007 semester, also for those who made the Dean's List and Vice-Chancellor's List of Academic Excellence. 

Two Doctors of Philosophy and one Doctor of Psychology received their awards at the graduation ceremony on Saturday, February 2: Dr Helene Forscher, PhD, Dr Moyna Glenn Goold, PsyD, and Dr Lee Stubbs, PhD. 

Four students in Japanese Studies have been congratulated by Prof. Raoul Mortley for their success in the Gold Coast and Queensland State annual Japanese speech competitions held at Griffith University. They are now preparing with Dr Masako Gavin (right) for the 2008 competition.

Dean Raoul Mortley has announced that Sue Gwilliam is now Staff Development and Human Resources Coordinator for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.   "Sue is working closely with Faculty Finance Manager Kevin Jih on HR matters and is responsible for looking after all adjunct staffing appointments," Prof. Mortley said.

Prof. Paul Wilson has been appointed to the list of experts for the International Criminal Court (ICC) as a consultant in forensic psychology and criminology. The court only appoints experts after a thorough and comprehensive vetting process.

Lesley Brown, now in the second year of her doctoral studies, has just completed field work in Indonesia and Singapore on her topic which explores the notion of a lifecycle of terrorism.

At her PhD confirmation on Thursday, March 20, Amber McKinley-George presented her research regarding her topic “An Examination of Clearance Rates and Homicide Solvability in Australia”.  Her supervisors are Prof. Paul Wilson and Assistant Prof. Wayne Petherick.

Cameron Edser and Michael Richards, Directors of the Bond-produced graduation film Animal Instincts, have collected prizes at two more film festivals. On March 28 they were presented with the Thomson Young Innovator of the Year Award at the opening night of the National Film Festival for Talented Youth held in Seattle.
