It has been yet another exciting month for Bond with the most notable event being the successful launch of the Bond University Mirvac School of Sustainable Development.

Bond University together with leading Australian property group, Mirvac, have launched the ‘Bond University Mirvac School of Sustainable Development’, Australia’s first tertiary program formally recognising long-term sustainability as integral in urban planning, design, development and strategic asset management.

Bond University has responded to the call for enhanced leadership of our health systems by launching an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) degree in Health.

Saturday June 3 marked a momentous milestone for almost 200 undergraduate and postgraduate students who graduated in front of family and friends in a ceremony held at the Bond University Sports Hall.

Federal Sex Discrimination Commissioner Pru Goward (right)delivered the Occasional Address, stressing to graduates that while they had indeed come a long way, the journey was far from over.

"It is never over;" Ms Goward said. "If you wake up one morning and believe you’ve arrived, go back to sleep and dream on.

"All graduation has done has increased the number of paths your life can take. This is not to say that life will not have its fair share of contentments, achievements and satisfactions. But life is not a destination, it is a journey," she said.

Also delivering an inspiring message was Valedictorian Ed Brockhoff (left), who graduated with Honours in a combined Bachelor of Laws and International Relations.

Addressing his fellow graduates, Ed said; "We have the power to dream of changing the world, and thanks to our families and to Bond, we have the actual ability to live out those dreams."

vision; and the management, Professors, staff and students for keeping this vision alive – for maintaining and enhancing this unique environment that enables us to grow as individuals and as a collective," he said.

Quoting well known Lebanese-American author Kahlil Gibran, Ed urged his fellow graduates to embrace their future.

"May you use your experiences here at Bond as the solid foundation required to dream, and to live out, and exceed those dreams, with integrity and compassion."

"May you always be aware of life’s timelessness. May you embrace the past with remembrance, but more importantly, may you embrace the future with longing."

The chance to enter university with a professional head-start and a helping hand with the cost of your degree is every student's dream but will become a reality for one aspiring Bond University student following the announcement of the inaugural Clayton Utz Scholarship.
