I am delighted to report about an all time high that Bond University Library has achieved in a customer satisfaction benchmarking survey involving most Australian and New Zealand university libraries, known as the Rodski survey. The area where we have surpassed the previous benchmark “high” is “The Library keeps me informed about new services and resources”. Thank you all for your confidence in us.
I am also delighted to let you know that we have begun offering a new service to the teachers in all Bond University’s collegiate partner schools. This new service was launched at the recent Blue Skies function that was attended by more than 60 teachers and heads of department from the Bond partner schools. We already have many teachers who are taking advantage of this new service.
The Library will double up as the Enrolment Hub at the beginning of semester two in May. This new initiative is aimed to assist new students have easy access to all the resources they need when they are choosing their programs and subjects. We are working closely with all the Faculties and Academic services to plan and implement this initiative. A number of computers in the Library will be set aside so that students can access the enrolment website and check their options online. Relevant faculty and administration staff will be available in the Library to advise the students.
My new responsibilities since November last year include overseeing of Technology Services. I am pleased to report that the transition has been extremely smooth. The staff of Technology Services and the Library are working together as one cohesive team on a number of projects, including VOIP (Voice Over IP), Innovation Classrooms, wireless printing which is due to be rolled out in May. 2007 looks like an exciting year for all of us.
