This last month has again been extremely busy. Of particular interest was my visit to various embassies in Canberra to ensure that embassy staff are aware of the extensive academic and support services available at Bond for international students sponsored to study in Australia by their respective Governments.

SHINING GRADUATES BASK IN BOND SCHOLARSHIP SUCCESS

High school graduates from Cairns to Tasmania are enjoying their first year at Bond University and lapping up the Gold Coast sunshine after receiving scholarships to study at the University.
The wide range of scholarships on offer at Bond and the laid-back lifestyle of the Gold Coast attract hundred of applicants annually from throughout Australia, all hoping to study at one of Australia’s most well regarded universities.

A delegation of Chinese health officials arrived at the Gold Coast last week to study Australia’s public health system.
Nineteen senior officials from the Zhejiang Province Bureau of Health in China completed a five-day course at Bond University’s Centre for Executive Education, entitled "Contemporary Issues in Australian Health Care Management". | |

CAREERS FAIR A SUCCESS

The 2007 Bond University Careers Fair, held in the Princeton Room on March 22, was an outstanding success, with more than 40 employers and 300 students and Alumni attending. (There were 43 employer exhibitors manned by about 112 staff).

EYES ON THE BAR
Caulfield Grammar School graduate Matthew Hooper’s list of achievements is long and growing.
After achieving an impressive ENTER score of 99.75, Matthew was awarded a Vice-Chancellor’s scholarship to the prestigious Bond University on the Gold Coast, where he commenced his studies in Law, International Relations and Chinese language in 2005. Since then, he has featured on the Vice-Chancellor’s list every semester, most recently winning the award for most outstanding student in the Law Faculty.
