Anglican Church Grammar School graduate Matthew Hodgson-Van Daal is currently enjoying his first year at Bond University on the Gold Coast after receiving a full scholarship to attend the University.
Matthew was awarded a prestigious Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship, which covers his full tuition fees in his dual degree of Biomedical Science and Law.
He said being awarded the scholarship has opened up many opportunities for him to extend his personal and professional networks.
"It is a prestigious and respected scholarship allowing me to meet and network with a vast array of people," he said.
Year 12 students from around Australia now have the opportunity to follow in Matthew’s footsteps, with Bond University once again offering outstanding students the chance to apply for scholarships to further their education at the University.
The University invests up to $10million annually in its Scholarship Program, which includes the prestigious, full tuition Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships, an Australia Day Scholarship, Sporting Scholarships, a journalism cadetship and the newly introduced Corporate Scholarship program that sees students combine their studies with real-world experience in a Fortune 500 company.

to no other Australian University.
"I had heard that the relatively small size of Bond has created a strong sense of community and I wanted to be a part of it," Matthew said.
"I didn’t just want to be another face in the crowd, which I knew I would be if i went to a large University.
"The learning environment is great, the lecturers are approachable and the workload is manageable.
"The social life is unbeatable, with so many organised events. Everyone is so friendly, and it is such a community.
"My school friends have nothing like this at their Universities, which is why I love Bond so much," he said.
Each year Bond University works with Australia’s secondary schools to find the best and brightest students. Students who demonstrate academic ability, community involvement, sporting prowess, and well-developed communication skills are highly regarded.
Applications for 2008 scholarships are now open and will close on July 31, 2007.
