RECENT OPEN DAY HAILED A SUCCESS
|
Bond’s first open day in five years was held last Sunday August 20, and given it was such an outstanding success, you can be sure that it will remain a permanent fixture on the Bond University calendar from now on.
An estimated 2,000 visitors converged on the campus to enjoy live entertainment, short films, campus tours, celebrity races, free massages and a sausage sizzle. Even the kids were kept entertained with a scavenger hunt and competitions run by local radio station Sea FM, who broadcasted live from the campus.
Of course, there was also plenty of information for would-be university students to take-in, with staff from each of Bond’s four Faculties – Business, Technology and Sustainable Development, Law, Humanities and Social Sciences and Health Sciences and Medicine – available to answer questions about undergraduate and postgraduate course offerings. Career advisors were also on hand to offer one-on-one advice, and seminars throughout the day covered specific interest areas and options to fund tertiary education.
One of the most popular hubs during the day was the "Life@Bond" lounge where prospective students and their parents could chat to current Bond students and Alumni about what life at Bond is really like. Choosing a university is also a lifestyle decision, so it’s important to get a student’s perspective of life on campus and the social scene.
If you missed out on Open Day, never fear! You can chat to Bond students online to get the answers to your questions - from tips on surviving your first year of uni to where to get the best coffee on campus. Simply visit www.bond.edu.au/askastudent and ask away.
Thank you to all the staff, students, Alumni and volunteers that ensured the Open Day was an outstanding success. Stay tuned for details of the 2007 Open Day.
