NEW SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE ANNOUNCED
Vice-Chancellor Robert Stable, Soheil Abedian, Chancellor Helen NugentEarlier this month Bond University announced the new  Soheil Abedian School of Architecture, which will open in January 2011. The new School has been established to meet growing demand for Australian architects with specialisation in sustainably built environment design.

The Soheil Abedian School of Architecture will open in January 2011, heralding a new era of Australian architects with specialisation in ecologically and socially sustainable built environment design.

CENTRE FOR LAW, GOVERNANCE AND PUBLIC POLICY

Professor Patrick KeyzerBond University’s latest Research Centre, The Centre for Law, Governance and Public Policy, was established in late 2009 under the leadership of Foundation Director Professor Patrick Keyzer of the Faculty of Law.

The Centre will conduct project-based interdisciplinary research to inform public policy and promote law reform. It has expertise in constitutional law, criminal law, public policy and human rights. 

The Centre’s Co-Patrons, the Hon. Justice Roslyn Atkinson of the Supreme Court of Queensland (who is also the President fo the Queensland Law Reform Commission) and the Hon. Michael Kirby AC CMG, former Justice of the High Court of Australia, will be officially welcomed in the coming months.

Professor Keyzer is joined by researchers from throughout the University, including Joel Butler, Gerard Carney, Anne Cullen, John Farrar, Ray Gordon, Tina Hunter, Amy Kenworthy, Ken Levy, Damien Lockie, Michael Lupton, Geraldine Mackenzie and Jodie O’Leary.  Sian Daniel is the part-time Centre Administrator. 

The Centre will officially launch in June, during its first Conference: Access to Constitutional Justice.
