Last week was the annual student-run Bondstock event. I was fortunate to attend a number of the functions during the week of special activities, including the Bond Revue (which was a resounding success again this year) and the Student Gala Ball at Palazzo Versace on Saturday 14 October.

Bond University graduates have featured in the upper ranks of the Gold Coast Bulletin’s list of the 100 most powerful Gold Coasters, with one-quarter of the top 16 hailing from the local, private and not-for-profit University. Having been established in 1989, Bond was the first University on the Gold Coast.

Bond University PhD student Ms Ping Zhang has developed new technology that is set to revolutionise the breast cancer screening process and potentially save thousands of lives.

Entries for one of Australia’s most rewarding secondary film and video competitions – the Bond University Film and Television Awards (BUFTA) – are now open.

The who’s who of the local Law community will come together at Bond University on November 3 for the 7th Annual Owen Dixon Society Dinner.

The black-tie event will feature The Honourable Bruce McPherson (pictured), recently retired Justice of the QLD Court of Appeals and Author of "The Law of Company Liquidation and The Supreme Court of Queensland 1859-1960" as key-note speaker.

When Terence Goldsworthy announced to his parents at the age of 17 that he wanted to be a policeman after years as a reluctant schoolboy, the last thing on anyone's mind was higher education.

But after almost 20 years of part-time study, Goldsworthy graduated last month from Bond University as a Doctor of Philosophy.
